FAS Track is CEMCO’s fire-rated wall assembly, a deflection track that offers fire and air protection with the added benefit of an increased sound rating.
The revolutionary design of FAS Track puts UL-tested one- and two-hour-rated assemblies within the track. It provides faster and easier installation, eliminating contractors’ labor costs, while solving three critical construction challenges at once.

Frequently Asked Questions about FAS Track
When will FAS Track be available?
Full manufacturing—including all specification sheets, details and fire-rated assembly numbers—is estimated to run by late November 2008.
What will the cost be?
CEMCO is still calculating final numbers, but the goal is to keep the price 25 percent to 35 percent below traditional fire-rated head-of-wall costs.
Is this a proprietary product?
Yes. CEMCO has filed for the patent on this product line.
Can the intumescent material stay exposed?
Yes, the intumescent material is meant to be exposed. No additional material needs to be added for it to perform as a fire-rated assembly.
How does the product eliminate labor?
Currently for walls to receive a fire rating, additional fire caulking needs to be added after the drywall is installed. With FAS Track, the fire protection is incorporated into the track, eliminating the time and cost of applying fire caulking altogether.
What is a floating ceiling?
A “floating ceiling” is architectural feature that is achieved when the drywall is cut short of the concrete slab ceiling. This allows for a finished reveal between the wall and the ceiling that creates an illusion of floating.
How does FAS Track increase the sound rating?
The intumescent material placed just proud of the track profile creates a gasket effect where FAS Track is installed to the concrete slab.
