Update on Slotted Track

CEMCO On-Line CSI Specifications at ARCAT

CEMCO on ARCAT

Exterior Slotted Track New!
CEMCO's Exterior Slotted Track was created by contractors for contractors. The external groove provides a resting point for exterior sheathing, transferring the weight of the sheathing to the framing rather than the arms and back of the installer.

The five-point slot pattern in the web gives several options for attachment so the drift movement will not be compromised from attachment into the solid portion of the web. The attachment guideline line in the center of the slot takes out the guesswork of the proper center slot attachment, which is vital to ensure maximum vertical deflection.

Frequently Asked Questions

When will the Exterior Slotted Track be available?

Full manufacturing, including all specification sheets and details, is estimated to run by late November 2008.

What will the cost be?

The Exterior Slotted Track will cost a little bit more than traditional slotted track due to its external groove and 3-inch legs. It requires additional material to manufacture this superior product.

Is this a proprietary product?

Yes. CEMCO has filed for the patent on this product line.

How does Exterior Slotted Track eliminate labor costs?

Use of the track requires less work, which leads to reduced labor costs. Traditional exterior floor-line construction requires additional backing material for sheathing attachment. In addition, two-piece track systems require not only the labor cost for installing two pieces instead of one but also additional materials.

Why are there more slots on the web?

Additional slots on the web provide attachment options. In the past, single slots have been installed 8 inches to 12 inches on center. In the field installation when these single slots were not accessible for fastener attachment, the installer would attach the fastener into the solid part of the web, thus taking away the ability for drift movement.
